I came to Advance in a sorry state. I was suffering a chronic illnes and I hadn't seen a dentist for 10 years - My mouth was pitiful. I'm in my 50's and have had gum disease since my 20's. Earlier attempts at treatment were unsuccessful and I had resigned myself to my fate, added to this I was a "dento-phobe" - the mere thought of dental treatment was enough to induce tremors! Initial visits were reassuring and after 4 quite intense hygiene sessions I had a clean & healthy mouth.

I became obsessed with the toothbrushing regime and it paid off big time. I can kiss people without holding my breath. The first filling was over before I knew it had started and for someone with an embarrassingly low pain threshold, that was a pleasant surprise. I began to actually enjoy my dental visits and spurred on by such success, decide to replace my old, worn denture.

The new denture is such a feat of engineering I've put it into the category of mouth jewellery! I've even showed it to a few close (and rather surprised) friends. It looks very natural and has acted as a minor facelift - People I haven't seen for ages say "You look good, your face has changed - What happened?" Lips that had something of a sad clown position now turn up slightly at the corners.
